Working alongside existing assistant coaches, the Committee and the wider playing group, this is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual to refine their craft and develop the club’s playing style with a group of players keen to play good-looking rugby.

Finsbury Park RFC was founded in 2011 to provide rugby playing opportunities for players of all backgrounds and abilities in Haringey and Islington. The club has enjoyed a meteoric rise: the 1st XV plays in Level 8 (the new Counties 2 Herts/Middlesex) and the 2nd XV have been a staple of the Herts/Middlesex Merit Tables for the last six years. Regardless of which team they represent, all players are part of one club - this ethos drives our training, our socials and the club’s wider management.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver training sessions, balancing the needs of players of varying ability
Oversee and advise assistant coaches, helping them to develop their own coaching abilities

With the input of the playing group, implement a playing philosophy that wins games and maximises the enjoyment of players
Support the development of individual playing squad members, identifying areas for improvement and development

Key Attributes:

Level 2 Coaching Qualification strongly preferred
Exhibit strong and demonstrable knowledge of technical and tactical components of rugby
Capable of planning, analysing and organising self and others
Effective communicator and motivator

Successful candidates will be required to deliver at least 1 mid-week training session from July to April, and matches on Saturday from August to April.
