First day of Pre-Season Training marks the start of the new season for Finsbury Park Rugby Club

Tonight sees a return to training for Finsbury Park Rugby Club after a short rest over the summer. Last season was a very strange one indeed, with no leagues taking place for either side. Pre-season is an indicator that we can put the previous campaign well and truly behind us, with the continued easing of Covid restrictions perhaps showing us the path back to competitive rugby.

We look forward with optimism, to what may be a full league season, and a chance for Finsbury Park Rugby Club to continue our incredible rise as a rugby force in North London.

Training will start tonight in Finsbury Park, in the space along Seven Sisters Road (near where Tag Rugby has been taking place). A big thank you to the coaches for putting together the plans for pre-season, in collaboration with our new committee. I look forward to working with you all to deliver another successful season for Finsbury Park.

A big welcome back to all our returning players, a warm reception awaits for those looking to join the club. The FPRFC continues to grow as a community, despite the challenges Covid has thrown our way. On Covid, while restrictions are lifting, it is very important that we continue to follow the RFUs guidance to keep everyone safe. Please remember to bring along your own water bottles, sign-in upon arrival, and follow all the instructions from the coaches.

With the EUROs over, test matches continuing in both the northern and southern hemispheres, and a Lion's tour well underway, rugby is back on the agenda. We look forward to seeing you all back at training to start our preparations for what will no doubt be another successful season.

'Mon the Fins,

Nick Tewson
Club Chair
